RHOBH, Season 6, Episode 19–Goodbye, Dubai–The Yacht Dinner From Hell

We pick up in Dubai, where the women are getting into white Rolls-Royces to visit the local mall. And by “mall,” I mean a palatial city of stores and restaurants where they are chauffeured around on little golf carts. This is not exactly a trip to the food court at the mall back home.

They do some serious retail damage, but the mood is a little off. LVP is feeling ganged up on by Lisa Rinna and Eileen, who are still icing her out. They also have to behave themselves because they’re in Dubai, where profanity is not allowed, which could make this group’s vacation surprisingly difficult.

The women visit the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and head all the way to the top. On the balcony of the 152nd floor, Eileen and Kyle are both panicking over their fear of heights while everyone else is enjoying the view.

LVP pulls Eileen aside and once again apologizes for asking about her affair with Vinny. This time, she follows Kyle’s advice and simply says she’s sorry, without any qualifiers or explanations. Miraculously, it seems to work, and the two finally make peace.

Back in Beverly Hills, Brandi, Yolanda, and Kim meet for a picnic lunch. This is pretty much the B-list filler scene, so there isn’t much to report. Yolanda finds their company easy, especially since the other women have been questioning her illness and throwing around that pesky Munchausen word.

They discuss a few things, and Yolanda hints at the cracks in her marriage, but nothing particularly important happens, so let’s move on.

In Dubai, the women are getting ready for dinner, and Erika is sharing her glam team with Kathryn Edwards, of O.J. fame. It’s Kathryn’s birthday, and the women are hoping for a peaceful dinner.

It won’t happen.

They board a gorgeous yacht, which seems like a questionable choice considering Housewives and boats have never exactly been a winning combination. Rinna and Eileen ask Erika for her take on their ongoing situation with LVP. Erika doesn’t have much to say, but they agree that the whole mess goes back to the mutual dislike between Yolanda and LVP, with LVP being at the center of the Munchausen rumors.

Rinna feels like they’re all stuck in the middle of two women who hate each other, but she still wants LVP to admit that she was the one who brought up the rumors about Yolanda’s illness.

Then Kathryn’s mom calls to wish her a happy birthday. She has memory problems, so the fact that she remembered to call Kathryn makes the moment especially sweet and touching. I tear up a little. My mom is gone, and I miss her calls. Let’s move on before I completely lose my composure.

The women all get a little emotional talking about their moms. Rinna then toasts Kyle and Erika for planning the trip, and for a moment, everyone seems to be getting along. Naturally, Kyle, who is always producing, decides this would be a good time to bring up the conflict from the night before.

Rinna tells LVP that they have work to do on their relationship, and that she thinks LVP and Yolanda are the crux of the entire problem. Kyle asks what she means, and Rinna doubles down, saying that the two women hate each other.

LVP won’t admit that she dislikes Yolanda, and she denies setting Rinna and Kyle up to bring up the Munchausen theory. Rinna especially believes LVP was trying to set Kyle up, and Lisa still won’t admit to it.

Lisa Vanderpump can’t believe they are going over this again, and neither can I.

Eileen and Rinna can’t understand why Kyle is okay with what they see as LVP’s betrayal. Kyle believes Rinna, but she still isn’t willing to go against Vanderpump. LVP accuses Rinna of throwing everyone under the bus, which is a very fair point. But then again, Rinna makes my skin crawl, so there is that.

Eileen goes after LVP, and the two of them are right back at it. So much for Kathryn’s birthday dinner.

Eileen storms off, fed up with Kyle appeasing LVP just to preserve their friendship. Erika, Kathryn, and Rinna leave the table too, leaving LVP and Kyle alone to hash things out.

Eileen thinks LVP refuses to admit when she isn’t perfect, and back at the table, Kyle says pretty much the same thing. LVP can’t believe Kyle would listen to anything Rinna says. Kyle points out that LVP would never stand up for her the way she constantly stands up for LVP.

Meanwhile, Eileen and Kathryn get into a little argument of their own, which makes me chuckle. But Kyle and LVP are the main event right now, so back to them.

Kyle believes LVP tried to throw her under the bus by making it seem like Kyle was the one questioning Yolanda’s illness. LVP, unsurprisingly, does not see it that way.

Kyle tells LVP that their relationship has to change, while LVP says she will tell Kyle whatever she wants to hear just to make the whole thing go away. The other women start questioning whether these two even have a real friendship.

Eventually, Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle agree to drop it.

Finally.

Kyle is disappointed that Lisa can’t admit when she is wrong, while Lisa sees no fault in anything she did. They have reached an impasse. Kyle tells Lisa to eat her fucking chicken and be quiet, which is solid advice at this point.

After all of this, there is a birthday cake for Kathryn. Nobody is really in the mood for cake, not even Kathryn. Erika declares that she is far too fabulous for all this fighting, and frankly, so am I.

The next morning, everyone is exhausted and ready to head home. They meet for breakfast and reflect on some of the fun they had in Dubai, and, at long last, there finally seems to be peace in the Middle East.
