Bethenny Getting Married, Season 1, Episode 5–So Hoppy Together

It’s WEDDING DAY! After four episodes of wedding planning, dress drama, pregnancy hormones, Jason’s questionable participation, and enough assistance from hired professionals to staff a small corporation, Bethenny Frankel is finally getting married.

There is just one minor detail. Bethenny is still working on her book.

Because why would a woman who is about to get married take the day off? Bethenny is determined to finish her work before the festivities begin, and the book apparently gets priority right up until the wedding preparations demand her attention. Somewhere, her publisher is having the best day of their life.

The apartment becomes a revolving door of friends, family, assistants, hairdressers, makeup artists, and wedding personnel. Everyone is getting ready, and Bethenny is attempting to manage the chaos while also preparing for one of the biggest days of her life.

Julie is on hand to help, as usual, and the assistants are doing their best to keep everything moving. At this point, Julie deserves her own wedding registry.

Bethenny slips into her little white wedding dress, and the reality of the occasion starts to sink in. After all the stress and planning, she’s finally going to marry Jason. The dress is ready, the guests are arriving, and the ceremony is getting closer.

But naturally, there is a bathroom emergency.

Just as Bethenny is about to walk down the aisle, she finds herself dealing with an unfortunate wardrobe-and-bathroom situation. Julie comes to the rescue, because apparently being Bethenny’s assistant requires medical, logistical, emotional, and emergency bathroom-response training.

The situation is eventually handled, and the bride makes it to the ceremony.

And then comes the wedding itself.

Bethenny and Jason exchange vows in front of their friends and family. There are emotional moments, beautiful details, and the realization that this is finally happening. Bethenny, who has spent so much of her life dealing with complicated family relationships, is beginning a family of her own.

The ceremony is especially meaningful given everything Bethenny has shared about her childhood and her relationship with her parents. This isn’t simply another party or business milestone. It’s a major personal moment.

Jason is officially her husband, and Bethenny Frankel is now Bethenny Hoppy.

The reception follows, with plenty of celebrating, dancing, and the usual wedding festivities. Friends and family gather to toast the newlyweds, and after all the episodes of planning, it’s nice to see the actual celebration finally arrive.

Of course, the workaholic bride hasn’t suddenly transformed into someone who can sit still for an entire evening. That would be asking too much.

But for once, Bethenny gets to enjoy the result of all the planning rather than managing the next crisis.

She’s married, she’s pregnant, she’s got a growing business, and she’s got a book to finish.

Jason Hoppy has officially signed up for the rest of this adventure.

And the wedding planner can finally go home.
