Bethenny Getting Married, Season 1, Episode 8–Bryn Here, Done That

Welcome to parenthood, Bethenny and Jason. The wedding is over, the honeymoon is over, the baby has arrived, and there is no return policy.

After all the drama surrounding Bryn’s early arrival, Bethenny and Jason are thrilled that their daughter is healthy and doing well. But bringing home a newborn means that the carefully managed life Bethenny has built is about to be completely reorganized around feeding, diaper changes, and a tiny person who has absolutely no interest in anyone’s schedule.

Bryn is home, and suddenly the apartment has a new boss.

Bethenny and Jason are learning the basics of newborn care, and the adjustment is immediate. Feeding schedules, diaper changes, and figuring out what the baby needs become the priorities. All those preparations and childcare lessons are now being put to the test. It’s one thing to practice with a doll in a class; it’s another thing when the actual baby is looking at you for answers.

Bethenny is thrilled, but she’s also discovering that motherhood is a rather demanding full-time position. The woman who already has a growing business, a book, a staff, and a husband to manage now has an entirely new set of responsibilities. And unlike the assistants, Bryn cannot be asked to put together a list and get back to her.

Jason is getting his own crash course in fatherhood, too. The two are figuring out how to divide the work and settle into their new routine. There is plenty of love and excitement, but also the unmistakable realization that life has changed dramatically.

Meanwhile, the nursery still needs attention. Jason teams up with Max and Chuck to get the baby’s room finished, because apparently the baby has arrived before the decorating department has completed its assignment.

The guys work on getting everything ready just in time for the grandparents’ visit. It’s a sweet gesture, and a rare opportunity for Jason to take charge of a project without Bethenny having to supervise every detail.

The grandparents are coming to meet their first grandchild, and the arrival of Bryn gives the family a reason to gather and celebrate. For Bethenny, this is an especially meaningful moment. She’s building the family life she has wanted, and watching her daughter become part of that family is a major milestone.

Of course, the practical realities of having a newborn are not going anywhere. The feedings continue, the diaper changes continue, and the adults are learning that there is no such thing as being completely prepared.

Bethenny has spent years building a life around independence, ambition, and having control over her own time. Now she’s discovering that a baby has no respect for business hours, personal space, or a carefully organized calendar.

And Jason, Max, and Chuck may have gotten the nursery ready, but the real work has only just begun.

Bryn is home. The grandparents have arrived. The nursery is ready.

Now somebody tell Bethenny that the baby doesn’t care about her to-do list.
