• We’re in Miami, where the dinosaurs are waking up after another night of questionable decisions.

Tinsley gets a text from some guy inviting her out for a drink, which seems like a perfectly reasonable way to begin the day when you are a Real Housewife.

Meanwhile, everyone has decided it’s time to address Sonja’s drinking.

This is not exactly coming out of nowhere. Sonja has spent most of the trip face-planting, dancing on glass tables, and generally behaving like a dinosaur who has discovered an open bar and no supervision.

Bethenny heads into Sonja and Ramona’s room and tells Sonja that she gets completely out of control when she drinks.

    Sonja thinks Bethenny is overreacting.

    Naturally.

Then Luann walks in, and Bethenny suggests that Sonja go to an AA meeting with the Countess. Luann agrees.

Ramona comes down to the kitchen and says she wants the man who has been texting Tinsley, and she’s not going to give up on him.

Tinsley pulls out a photo of Ramona making out with the inevitable Harry Dubin.

All of the women enjoy seeing it.

Sonja gets ready for the meeting, and Luann tells her that she is inappropriately dressed. Sonja changes into something else.

Barbara says she feels left out of the group and wonders if it’s because nobody likes her. The women call her out for being distant and not making more of an effort to connect with them.

Barbara cries, and Bethenny tells her that she needs to make more of an effort with the women. Bethenny says Luann should help Barbara get to know everyone, and Barbara agrees that she feels abandoned by Luann.

Sonja is reluctant to go to the meeting with Luann because she finds Luann so bossy. But she goes.

The other women head off to a hotel to have lunch by the pool. They have a rented house with a chef and a pool, so I don’t really understand why they’re going to a hotel, but whatever.

After the meeting, Sonja is emotional from hearing so many sad stories. She can’t shake the feeling of despair and wishes she could help people. She tells the other women that the meeting wasn’t for her.

Then Sonja discovers that her seat is wet and starts flipping out. The sand and the water at the beach aren’t for her either. She wants to leave and starts crying.

Luann isn’t interested and just wants to eat lunch while the other women try to calm Sonja down. Sonja keeps going on about how sad the meeting was and how much it affected her.

Most of the women decide to get the food to go, but Luann wants to swim, damn it.

Bethenny says Luann is devoid of humanity.

The other women head back to the house for lunch, while Luann spends hours alone on the beach, which honestly doesn’t sound like a bad deal at all.

Then we see Luann at The Fillmore Theater, checking out her own Cabaret poster and posing for a picture.

Ramona says that Luann thinks all of the women are just jealous of her success.

Barbara is starting to realize how self-involved Luann is.

The women get massages, and Barbara takes Luann’s spot since Luann is MIA. Luann eventually comes back and doesn’t get her massage, which leaves her miffed.

Dorinda and Sonja call Luann out for abandoning Sonja when she was upset. Luann doesn’t seem to understand what she did wrong.

Luann thinks Sonja just wants attention.

Sonja says she didn’t even want to go to the meeting with Luann because Luann is the one who likes attention.

They shout at each other for a while before finally hugging and making up. They agree that they are both divas.

Tinsley is flirting hard with Brett, the man Ramona wants. Sorry, Ramona. I think this guy is going to prefer Tinsley. Ramona is scary and awkward with men.

Tinsley agrees to meet Brett for a drink before dinner.

Luann is still pissed about missing her massage. She also didn’t have anyone to do her hair.

Ramona tries to get Luann to hurry up so they can leave for dinner, but Luann is still pouting.

Tinsley goes on her drink date with Brett and shares everything from the health of her ovaries to her criminal record.

The other women leave Luann and Ramona behind and spend the drive talking shit about Luann.

Luann is finally ready, and she and Ramona head to the restaurant.

The women spy on Tinsley, and she is kissing her date, so that seems to be going well so far.

A tipsy Tinsley makes her way over to the table, and Luann and Ramona finally arrive.

Luann complains about missing her massage and not having anyone to do her hair. She says she is always last.

Barbara asks Luann where she was all day, and Luann tells everyone about her swim and her poster.

Barbara confronts Luann about not being there for her, despite everything Barbara has done for Luann. Barbara wants Luann to have her back.

Luann brushes it off and tries to hug it away, but Bethenny tells Luann that she should let Barbara finish her thoughts.

Barbara says that her relationship with Bethenny is one-sided.

Luann thinks the women have brainwashed Barbara and turned her against her.

Tinsley interjects, slurring her words, and Luann mocks her. Yes, Luann, the cocktail queen who tumbles in bushes and sleeps with pirates.

All of the women think Luann is being ridiculous.

It triggers Bethenny, who tells Luann that she is insufferable.

Bethenny starts screaming, Tinsley starts screaming, and Luann goes into Countess mode, appalled by their behavior.

Luann accuses the women of trying to tear her down.

Bethenny asks Luann when the last time was that she asked about Dennis’ death. She accuses Luann of dining out on her sobriety, and she has a point.

Bethenny says that she and Dennis both helped Luann, and that Luann is insane for not checking in on Bethenny after Dennis died.

Luann says she is going to leave, and Bethenny hops out of her chair, screaming that she did Luann’s intervention and that Luann is only concerned about her cabaret.

Life is NOT actually a cabaret.

Luann tells Bethenny to look at herself, and Bethenny tells her to take a look in the fucking mirror because she is an asshole.

Bethenny is now full-scale hyperventilating and shrieking in a restaurant. A pretty nice one, actually.

She is careful to list all of Luann’s drunken misdeeds while screaming at her, particularly the fact that Luann left rehab early to perform.

Bethenny screams at Luann that she is a psycho.

Then Bethenny collapses in tears, and we are told that this shit show will be continued…

  • Shannon Beador has given us many things over the years: Tres Amigas, a complicated relationship with the concept of a plate, approximately 47 variations of “I’m DONE,” and some of the most spectacular emotional detonations in Real Housewives of Orange County history.

    So let’s rank the meltdowns.

    1. The Quiet Woman Plate Incident

    “THIS ISN’T MY PLATE!”

Nothing says fine dining quite like Shannon Beador screaming across a restaurant and sending a plate flying.

The Quiet Woman dinner remains one of Shannon’s all-time great explosions. The shouting. The accusations. The hand gestures. The plate.

It was less “ladies’ dinner” and more Jurassic Park: Dinner Service.

    Meltdown level: 🦖🦖🦖🦖🦖

    2. Shannon Gets Thrown Out of Heather’s House

There are moments when a person realizes a party is no longer going well.

And then there is Shannon Beador realizing a party is no longer going well.

Shannon spirals, gets increasingly emotional, and eventually ends up being escorted out while still trying to make her case.

The combination of tears, yelling, frantic gestures and “YOU WILL ALL SEE THE TRUTH!” is peak early-season Shannon.

    Meltdown level: 🦖🦖🦖🦖½

    3. The “I’m Done!” Mic Meltdown

Shannon discovers that the cameras are still rolling.

This is, naturally, the worst possible thing that could happen to Shannon at that particular moment.

She starts waving her hands, panicking, trying to shut down the conversation and essentially reaches the only logical conclusion:

    “I’M DONE!”

This is Shannon in her natural habitat: overwhelmed, furious, emotional and gesticulating like she’s trying to direct air traffic.

    Meltdown level: 🦖🦖🦖🦖🦖

    4. The Jamaica Meltdown

    This wasn’t just a meltdown.

This was Shannon Storms Beador achieving escape velocity.

During the Season 13 Jamaica trip, the women confront Shannon about her behavior and her friendship with Tamra. Shannon gets increasingly emotional, leaves the dinner table, and then absolutely loses it when the women follow her.

She screams. She cries. She demands that the cameras stop filming. She retreats to the resort, where the situation somehow gets even more explosive.

Kelly Dodd later described Shannon as completely “unhinged” during the episode and said she was worried something terrible might happen to her. Shannon herself later called losing it in Jamaica her biggest regret of the season.

In other words: Jamaica did not get Shannon.

    Jamaica got Shannon Storms.

    Meltdown level: 🦖🦖🦖🦖🦖🦖

    5. Shannon vs. Lydia McLaughlin

Lydia McLaughlin walks back into RHOC and apparently makes the tactical error of disagreeing with Shannon.

At their first real confrontation, the subject of Vicki Gunvalson comes up. Lydia suggests that Shannon and Tamra are behaving toward Vicki in ways similar to how Vicki behaved toward them.

Shannon does not receive this observation as a neutral piece of conversation.

She gets upset, storms off and essentially decides Lydia is a pot-stirrer.

And this is only the beginning.

The Shannon-Lydia feud keeps resurfacing throughout the season, including the infamous argument over Shannon squeezing Tamra’s leg. Lydia later pointed out that Shannon was the one crying and screaming during that confrontation.

It was the kind of feud where you could practically hear the producers whispering, “Oh, this is going to be good.”

    Meltdown level: 🦖🦖🦖🦖½

    6. The 70s Party Showdown

Because nothing makes a screaming match more dignified than dressing for a 1970s-themed party.

Shannon and Kelly go at it while surrounded by disco-era costumes and Housewives who are increasingly realizing that they should probably stay out of it.

    The fashion says Studio 54.

    The screaming says Jurassic World.

    Meltdown level: 🦖🦖🦖🦖

    7. The John Janssen Era

Shannon’s relationship with John Janssen gave us an entirely different genre of Shannon meltdown: the desperate attempt to keep something private while simultaneously being on a reality television show.

    There are tears.

    There are accusations.

    There is panic.

There is Shannon insisting that something absolutely cannot be filmed while, unfortunately for Shannon, it is being filmed.

    Reality television remains undefeated.

    Meltdown level: 🦖🦖🦖🦖½

    8. Shannon vs. Meghan

The Meghan King/Shannon dynamic produced some wonderfully tense early RHOC moments.

Shannon becomes increasingly defensive, increasingly emotional and increasingly Shannon.

Eventually, she storms away from the confrontation.

Because sometimes the only appropriate response to a Housewives argument is to leave dramatically while everyone watches.

    Meltdown level: 🦖🦖🦖½

    9. The Tamra Friendship Implosions

Shannon and Tamra Judge have had one of those Housewives friendships that can go from:

    “I love you!”

    to

    “YOU ARE A LIAR!”

    with almost no transition time.

Their friendship has generated crying, screaming, accusations, reconciliations and more screaming.

At this point, their relationship is basically its own weather system.

    Meltdown level: 🦖🦖🦖🦖

    10. Shannon: The Entirety of Season 17

    Honestly?

    This isn’t one meltdown.

    It’s a season-long condition.

Relationship drama. Friendship drama. Accusations. Tears. Arguments. More tears. More accusations. Shannon attempting to control what gets filmed while simultaneously providing the cameras with approximately everything they need.

    It was exhausting.

    It was chaotic.

    It was extremely Shannon.

    And we watched every second.

    Meltdown level: 🦖🦖🦖🦖🦖

    The Verdict

Shannon Beador doesn’t simply have meltdowns.

    She has EVENTS.

She cries with her whole body. She argues with her hands. She storms out with commitment. She screams “I’M DONE!” and then, somehow, continues the conversation.

    And honestly?

We wouldn’t want her any other way.

    Long live Shannon Storms Beador.

    May her hands keep waving.

    May the plates remain throwable.

And may she never, ever stop being done.

  • Let’s be honest: The Real Housewives has never been a franchise that believes in aging quietly.

Over the years, we’ve watched the women evolve, glow up, tighten up, fill up, lift up, tuck, snip, inject and occasionally appear to have been replaced by a completely different woman who just happens to know where the cameras are.

And look, there’s nothing wrong with wanting a little help from modern medicine. Housewives have access to some of the best cosmetic surgeons, injectors and aesthetic specialists on the planet.

But some transformations have been… more Jurassic than others.

So let’s dig up the evidence and count down 15 Housewives whose looks have changed the most dramatically over the years.

    15. Dorit Kemsley — RHOBH

Dorit arrived on RHOBH looking like she had already spent several years preparing for a Housewives reunion.

But her appearance has continued to evolve.

Her features became more sculpted, her makeup became increasingly elaborate and her entire aesthetic moved further into “international luxury woman who has never encountered a fluorescent light she couldn’t conquer.”

Whatever the recipe, Dorit has clearly been following it.

    14. Brandi Glanville — RHOBH

Brandi’s transformation is particularly noticeable because we watched her go from the relatively fresh-faced woman who arrived on RHOBH to a much more enhanced look over the years.

She’s openly discussed cosmetic work, including breast augmentation, Botox and fillers.

Brandi has also been refreshingly willing to talk about the reality of cosmetic procedures—which is probably more useful than pretending everyone just wakes up looking like that.

    13. Lisa Rinna — RHOBH

Technically, Lisa Rinna’s lips deserve their own entry.

Those lips have had more screen time than some Housewives.

Rinna has openly discussed lip filler and breast augmentation, and her appearance became so distinctive that you could probably identify her silhouette from three miles away.

The lips walked so Housewives fillers could run.

    12. Mia Thornton — RHOP

Mia came into RHOP with absolutely no interest in pretending she hadn’t had work done.

She’s been open about cosmetic procedures including breast surgery, tummy tuck, liposuction, Botox and fillers.

And that’s what makes Mia interesting in this category: she doesn’t seem particularly interested in hiding the fact that she has invested heavily in the Mia Thornton 2.0 project.

    11. Karen Huger — RHOP

The Grand Dame has undergone quite the evolution since her early RHOP days.

Karen has acknowledged cosmetic treatments, including fillers, and her overall appearance has become considerably more sculpted.

She also perfected one of the most important Housewives skills of all:

Looking completely fabulous while insisting you look completely natural.

    10. Kyle Richards — RHOBH

Kyle’s transformation is less of a dramatic overnight overhaul and more of a 20-season renovation project.

She’s openly acknowledged having rhinoplasty and has discussed cosmetic treatments over the years.

The result is a more refined version of the Kyle we met in Beverly Hills.

Basically, Kyle Richards has been quietly renovating the house while everyone else was busy screaming in the backyard.

    9. Tamra Judge — RHOC

Tamra has gone through an enormous evolution since her early OC days.

Her body, face, hair and overall aesthetic have changed considerably over the years, and she’s been open about cosmetic procedures and treatments.

Of course, Tamra doesn’t just want to look good.

She wants to look good while doing a backflip off a yacht and screaming at somebody.

    Priorities.

    8. Melissa Gorga — RHONJ

Melissa’s rhinoplasty is one of the more famous cosmetic transformations in Housewives history because she openly acknowledged it.

And the difference between her original appearance and her current look is substantial.

Melissa has also discussed breast implants.

Basically, the woman arrived on RHONJ looking like Melissa Gorga and proceeded to become an increasingly polished version of Melissa Gorga.

    Very Jersey. Very efficient.

    7. Dolores Catania — RHONJ

Dolores has never been shy about discussing cosmetic procedures.

She’s had body-contouring procedures, breast surgery and other cosmetic work, and her transformation has been especially noticeable as she’s gotten older.

The woman somehow managed to become more physically intimidating while also getting more glamorous.

    Which seems unfair.

    6. Jennifer Aydin — RHONJ

Jennifer Aydin has a slight advantage in this competition:

Her husband is a plastic surgeon.

That’s like being married to a professional mechanic when you’re obsessed with vintage cars.

Jennifer has openly discussed multiple procedures, including breast surgery, tummy tuck and liposuction.

And unlike most of us, Jennifer doesn’t necessarily have to drive across town to consult with her surgeon.

She can apparently just walk into the kitchen.

    5. Kim Zolciak-Biermann — RHOA

Kim’s transformation is one of the most dramatic we’ve seen.

The Kim who appeared on early RHOA looks remarkably different from the heavily glamorized Kim who emerged later.

She’s openly discussed several procedures and treatments over the years, including breast augmentation, tummy tuck, liposuction, Botox and fillers.

    Kim didn’t just get a glow-up.

Kim got a complete franchise reboot.

    4. Nene Leakes — RHOA

Nene’s evolution happened right in front of us.

Over her many years on Housewives, her face, hair, body and overall aesthetic changed dramatically.

She’s openly discussed procedures including rhinoplasty and breast surgery, as well as other cosmetic treatments.

And honestly, Nene could have shown up to a reunion with an entirely new face and simply said:

    “I said what I said.”

And we would have accepted it.

    3. Teresa Giudice — RHONJ

Teresa Giudice deserves a very large fossil display.

The difference between early RHONJ Teresa and present-day Teresa is extraordinary.

She’s openly discussed procedures including rhinoplasty and breast augmentation, while her hair, makeup, body and overall aesthetic have also undergone major transformations.

Early Teresa looked like a Jersey mom.

Current Teresa looks like a Jersey mom who has personally defeated aging in a cage match.

And she brought a table with her.

    2. Vicki Gunvalson — RHOC

    And then there is Vicki.

We watched this woman transform over the course of RHOC from the original insurance-selling, whooping, casserole-making OG into a woman who eventually appeared to have been assembled in a Costa Mesa plastic surgeon’s office.

The rhinoplasty alone was enough to earn her a spot on this list.

But Vicki’s entire face has evolved dramatically over the years, and the contrast between early-season Vicki and later Vicki is one of the more spectacular Housewives transformations.

She didn’t just get a facelift.

She got a facelift and then apparently decided she needed to scream about it.

Which brings us to our winner.

    1. The Winner: Vicki Gunvalson

Yes, we’re giving Vicki the crown.

Because this isn’t simply about how many procedures someone has had. It’s about the overall transformation.

    Face.

    Body.

    Hair.

    Makeup.

    Style.

    Everything.

We’ve watched Vicki evolve from the original OC Housewife into a much more polished and surgically enhanced version of herself.

And unlike some Housewives, Vicki’s transformation happened over enough years that we got to watch the entire archaeological dig.

The woman is basically a living before-and-after photo.

    FINAL VERDICT

The Housewives may insist they haven’t changed that much.

    And that’s fine.

We’ll just be over here with the photographs, the timelines and a shovel.

Because at Jurassic Snark, we don’t judge.

    We excavate.

  • Jen Shah was only on RHOSLC for two seasons, but she somehow managed to pack approximately 40 Housewives lifetimes of chaos into them.

From throwing food to screaming on buses to fleeing from the feds, these are her most outrageous moments.

    1. The Sprinter Van Arrest

Nothing is ever going to top this. Jen was getting ready to leave for the cast trip when she suddenly got a phone call, removed her microphone, and bolted from the van. Minutes later, police arrived looking for her. The women had no idea what was happening, and neither did we. It remains one of the most insane openings to a Housewives episode ever.

    2. “I’m Innocent!”

After her arrest, Jen spent the season insisting that she was innocent and maintaining that she had been set up. Watching her continue to insist that she had done nothing wrong while the entire season revolved around her legal situation created some truly surreal television.

    3. The “Shah Squad”

Jen didn’t just have friends. She had an entire entourage. Assistants, glam, security, employees — there was seemingly always somebody hovering around Jen and ready to jump into whatever crisis she had created that day.

    4. Throwing the Glasses at Whitney

Jen’s relationship with Whitney went from friendship to complete chaos, culminating in Jen throwing a glass during one of their arguments. With Jen, even a disagreement about dinner could turn into a potential crime scene.

    5. The $70,000 Tennis Bracelet

Jen showing off an insanely expensive tennis bracelet while the women were out ice fishing was peak Jen Shah. Nothing says practical outdoor recreation like several thousand dollars of diamonds bouncing around in the freezing Utah wilderness. The moment has since become one of the fan-favorite examples of Jen’s spectacularly excessive spending.

    6. The Beauty Lab Meltdown

Jen turning up at Heather’s Beauty Lab and Laser already furious and then launching into one of her trademark screaming fits was classic Season 1 Jen. A trip to the beauty salon somehow became a full-scale Housewives emergency.

    7. The Coach Shah Phone Call

Jen’s relationship with her husband, Sharrieff, produced some of the most bizarrely emotional moments of the show. Whenever Coach Shah called, Jen could go from screaming at everyone in the room to suddenly crying, apologizing and insisting that she loved her husband.

    8. The “I Will Drag You” Bus Fight

Jen and Lisa Barlow’s second-season bus fights were absolutely feral. Their argument became so heated that a producer had to physically intervene and separate Jen from Lisa.

    9. Throwing the Veggie Tray

Only Jen Shah could turn a perfectly innocent vegetable platter into a weapon. During one of her many explosive arguments, she launched food across the room, adding another entry to the growing list of objects Jen was willing to throw when she got angry. Fans still remember her throwing-everything era fondly.

    10. The “I’ll Put Your Body in the Lake” Threat

Jen casually telling Whitney that she would dump her body in the lake was one of those moments where you had to stop and wonder how the conversation had possibly gotten there. It was delivered with the kind of terrifying casualness that made Jen Shah feel less like a Housewife and more like a character in a mob movie.
